BUJO

Getting Started

Week One | Nov 12 – 18

This week is all about setting the framework for this project! We want to find some good sources of inspiration, brainstorm what pages we might need in the bullet journal, and set up the first few pages of the new journal

Step 1 : Prepare

Even if you have started your Bullet Journal for the project, I recommend watching this video from the creator of Bullet Journaling. It reminds us of the original idea behind bullet journaling. It is important to learn the rules before breaking them!Check out different sources for inspiration! I have started a Pinterest Board and Youtube playlist to share some inspiration.Brainstorm what you need in your journal! The only aspects I insist on each of us having throughout this project is an accomplishment tracker and a one page page agreement with yourself.

Here is what my planning looked like:

  • Annual
    • Future log May – Dec
    • Future log each week of the challenge
  • Monthly
    • Accomplishments
  • Weekly
    • Planner spread
    • Spending tracker
    • Tutoring schedule
  • Collections / Spreads
    • Period tracker
    • Project overview
    • Financial analysis
  • Tools
    • Time blocking
    • Pomodoro
    • Habit tracking
  • Templates
    • coming soon

A note about the accomplishment tracker : This is not just some idea that I thought up this morning and decided to force everyone to do. Accomplishment tracking isn’t just something that I like and want other people to like too. This tool is regarded and necessary by almost every single discipline, productivity, and happiness role-model that I follow. Navy Seals, bloggers, CEOs, parents, therapists, and several others recommend this as a powerful tool to establish control over your life and happiness.

Step 2 : Bujo Agreement

We will each include one page in our journal for an “agreement” with ourselves, outlining how we will use this journal.

This agreement could address how long you will stick with this system, what you will use this journal for, any other tools you will use, how often you will check in, etc.

I will update this to show the agreement I write up!

Step 3 : Set Up

Get your journal started! Include the pages you need and start using this as your daily planner and check-in point.

Step 4 : Review

On Sunday, Mags will lead a review time and we will discuss the project together!
